he says he would lie if he pretends to know babia a lot,but he still had to speak with him sometimes(including one time when babia made a surprise appearance at a wazekwa interview when he went solo to apologize for having been sent to attack him and wearing the same golden jacket wazekwa wore at olympia to bellitle it) and he was so sad when he heard the news that even during the group rehearsal he was not his usual self because he is a very sensitive person
he says babia was a great artist and had changed a lot in terms of behaviour in his last years and he appreciates that
then he briefly talks about music and religion saying that in african or congolese logic,we tend to think that being a pastor or a preacher means doing nothing else than that,whereas even in Bible its said Jesus was a carpenter but still preached,Luke was a doctor but still preached aswell,same for Paul who was a tent manufacturer
so he is a christian who is proud of it,but his job is being a musician
then papy mboma asks him if he could say something about his wife and kids since he is one of the rare known artists to have such a secrete private life,but wazekwa refuses to talk about them,and says polemic are happening these days about kids and wives for the simple reason that those artists showed them to people,if they were kept private nothing would have happened
then he is asked if he could remove his sunglasses,and he does it(and apparently wipes few tears) and when asked what he thinks of his face he says he thinks he has very nice eyes and thats why he wears sunglasses so that women do not bother him too much in streets
about ndjora's arrest, he denies having filed a complaint against her as it was reported,because he watched the video which could have lead to him taking her to court and did not felt insulted by the fact she said "bompema is a poor singer,like wazekwa" and that if you see somebody taking his counterpart for stuff like that then he needs his head to be checked ,but she attacked fally and jb stronger so they sued her and if she had attacked him aswell he would not mind sueing her instead of dealing with it on tv's
he says not all things spokesmen say on tv is controlled by their leaders because sometimes on the heat of the moment, and thinking it would please their leader and show him their love and comittment, spokesmen or group members go too far and even says to papy that he doubts tv owner knows every single word papy will say in his show but it does happen sometimes to make a mistake like one he did in paris and apologised for at beginning of this interview
on his case,wazekwa says when his spokesman goes too far, he punishes him to express his disagreement( he suspended his spokesman 11 months for having said that koffi sleeps with dead corpses every day)because at the end of the day its the leader's reputation which is spoiled by people seeing his group members having a bad behaviour on tv
after that,papy asks him what does he think of the nicknames some artists give eachother during polemic, and he reminds papy of his own example with bill having nicknamed him ntaba na masese because of rivalry with gesac( and ironically asks between him a bill who looks more like a ntaba which means in english a goat) and says the best thing was to ignore it and since he ignored it bill actually stopped it fast
but he was shocked and surprised to see koffi who was given nickname ebola out of anger about his behaviour,accept that name and even boast about it
for him this was the most ridiculous moment of that conflict because its like somebody proudly nicknaming himself aids,or cancer,or hitler in front of jewish people
koffi could have shown a lot of class if he actually expressed anger over that nickname and decided to create a NGO to fight against such serious disease(s) but chose to be cynical instead by saying its the best nickname he's ever had in his career and stuff like that
during his answer wazekwa says koffi is a brother which surprises papy, and wazekwa confirms he is a brother, a great artist but a great trouble maker aswell(and ironically adds he is great in everything) and that its sad that koffi's fantastic career as an artist is somehow spoiled by his huge record of bad behaviour
at the end of interview,wazekwa shows how he is inspired by alain mpela,nioka longo,tabu ley and papa lutumba
