I think Celezino's comment prior Babia's death is proper but Kisindjora I think will be affected because they are siblings I think that it isn't hypocrisy.

real talk,i appreciate his honesty,what i also find ridiculous in those funerals in general is saying that x person gave 300 dollars so he is a nice man,people just do not understand him and blah blah
true generosity happens in maximum discretion
and also they have developped that habit of not caring at all about somebody as long as he is alive,no matter how bad his situation is,and the group members have copied that behaviour
so many times we've heard people being sick and saying nobody visited them(for example the case of kester,or more recently doudou amiral)

You’re right! Some of them did not even care about giving King Kester a simple phone call while in Paris. When he passed away, they were the first to cry like BABIES, sing songs to pay him tribute and look sad during interviews when talking about him...say all the nicest things they could think of about the dead Friend and colleague. Those guys have to think (sometimes) with their hearts. Why ask for money to perform during a close friend funeral? Why refuse to help a current or former musician when you know you can? Helping someone does not always mean MONEY. We are Africans!!!

Fans buy music and attend concerts but if there are no CD's and no concerts then nothing fans can do apart from watch musicians waste away.

On one hand as far as I know most of these artist whilst  in their respective groups and even when they go solo are supported mostly by the superfans not former band leaders; On the other hand to watch your fav musician waste away and then later show up in masses to support his/her lifeless self or throw up in blogs venting just goes to show that the hypocracy is cultural. I have never seen Babia discussed this much until after his passing.

Unless you've not been following, here we've always discussed Babia,we covered him when he was complaining about Koffi's refusal to let him sing Quartier Latin songs, we covered him when he was singing JB Mpiana's songs and when he eventually released his generique. It is after he released his generique that he went quiet,we were waiting for his album but Babia went quiet till we later realised he was now in Angola with many other former Quartier Latin musicians and had carried on recording, there's nothing much about him on youtube or the blogs except after his death.

Fans can only support someone who is active and trying to showcase their work for instance We all know Suzuki Luzubu is a good singer and struggling but has he ever gone on camera to say he's preparing an album and sang some songs to warrant attention, no,he still sings old Quartier Latin songs, the same goes for many including Eric Tutsi etc, these days it's not expensive to showcase your work,there so many chaps with cameras and blogs doing promotion almost for nothing,if small boys like Gino, Eric Menthe and many others can appear in small interviews with bloggers what should stop Eric ,Suzuki and others, they should use those avenues to showcase their work and fans will support them.

Back to the music fraternity, the support that is needed is not financial but moral, we know you're a fan of Koffi Olomide so may be deliberately trying to divert attention from Koffi but it is a fact that he contributed immensely to Babia's suffering and people are bound to speak out now because Koffi wants to help now when it's too late,he didn't want anything to do with Babia in the first place.
