Ferre and Werrason are one and the same! This is not surprising at all. The guy is being stupid, why shouldn't Chikito or indeed any other former member of his band play Ferre's songs, it happens the world over, you can't stop people from covering songs as long as they credit. If Chikito decides to sell a CD of the cover songs then Ferre will have a case to drag Ferre to Socoda or the court as at now Ferre can only show his stupidity by forbidding Chikito to cover his songs but Chikito can still go ahead it wouldn't be a crime anyway.

They should do it like how they do it over here, if you want to play another artists songs at a concert, just ask the artist or if their dead ask their management for permission.

the problem is that our leaders are doing it "with motema mabé" why do they create all that circus around guys who contributed in their groups hence certainly know those songs better than, anybody then let the hundreds of interpretation group of unknown guys sing their songs
 and thats whats strange and what shows they do not like former musicians interpreting their songs just because they hate it when somebody leaves their group( even when they force that person out,strangely) and still benefits somehow from them

I'm shocked Sly why would ferre let chikito or anyone else sing is song?? You can not compare with Werra because Ferre sing almost every song compare to werra who does vocals on the rumba and nothing in the generique.

Maybe Ferre is bitter about chikito leave , but Ferre is the only owner of the song why would he let someone else make money with is property?? That make no sense. When Ferre left he creates is own stuff with les marquis.

Chikito leave Ferre,   want to have a solo Career fine but you can't without permission sing song of a other guy and make money with it.

Ferre is correct. Music is a service and product which is protected by copyright law. So ferres music can not be duplicated by anyone for a benefit. To do so one has to pay the one having the copyrights or just seek permission through prior informed concent.

Roméo and EMO, Chikito is preparing his first ever concert as a solo artist and he will be interpreting all Congolese stars just like Ferre did twice. Koffi Olomide has done similar shows except his last one ''Koffi Chante Tabu Ley'' was cancelled as Tabu Ley's family did not find it necessary, he had been previously allowed because Tabu Ley was still alive then.
Ferre is acting like total villager he is just like Werrason who has also stopped his former musicians from singing his songs. If you remember well,even Koffi stopped his former musicians from singing his songs for instance the late Babia Ndonga who was warned on tv by Koffi,these big musicians are just village idiots who are so out of touch and i find it shocking that we as young men and women of today should support them. Am afraid, i am a young man who values democracy and i find it wrong that a musician who took part in making an album and has his voice on it is not allowed to interpret those songs, he's not selling an album with Ferre's songs but he's just doing a concert, nothing wrong with that,it's a one off performance.

Tell me about it Sly Ferre sang Le Vent du Soir, Diata Locataire in first concerts was those songs signed by him no, just the young lad interpret your songs and start his career on a high

 i appreciated wemba's reaction during an interview when he was asked about other musicians interpreting his songs, and he says as soon as he is out of studio and cd is out songs belong to everybody as he does not record songs to listen and appreciate it himself,but just they cant do albums with his songs  and he said one day at a restaurant  he saw a group brilliantly interpreting wake up songs and it made him proud

Sly, it depends on the discretion of the custodian. If they allow you, then you can interprete. If they dont, you dont because its their right to allow you or not. But again your point carries some weight since you are talking about fairness.
