If only Ferre had continued with this type of musical arrangement as a bonus to the rhumba odemba he does, his rivals would have been sunk by now. It's sad we never got to hear much of Christian Solo, he left just when we saw the next Alain Makaba on lead guitar.

I don't think Ferre is really rumba man as much as he wants to think he is i'd say his Colleague Jdt is somebody how can claim that title as produced better rumba's then him each time I think ferre needs a balance otherwise he sound to boring and foreseeable, he needs experiment everything and other musical arrangements because his talent is enormous just to stay on one lane that what I think lets him down on many occasions.

Am sure you're aware that there are different categories of rhumba,JDT and many others play the standard rhumba and that mixed with tcha tcho whilst Ferre who is younger has taken a different route,he adopted the OK Jazz rhumba odemba and restricted himself to the two typical Lutumba Simaro and Franco favourite arrangement styles so there is not much of a variation however that has made a difference to his music and it's why he's way ahead of anyone else apart from Fally and the bigger stars like Werra and Koffi. Ferre can fill Zenith easily but the likes of JDT will struggle so Ferre's strategy has paid of and credit to him.

No  ;D ;D Ferre is no a little boy of course c'est un grand parmi le grand, what I'm saying his done too much of the odemba style with his talent he is able to do all styles of music and rumba's like Papa Wemba who's made all types of songs pop, jazz, folk and etc. Ferre has the talent to do that easily what worries me stick to one spot instead of pushing himself further to a new horizon that is what gets me mad at him either way his big artist who can fill up Zenith any day but what I also mean with somebody like JDT don't exactly what you'll get from him in his songs each song has a different arrangement but with Ferre you already it's going to odemba it's too obvious it the same with Koffi and Fally too much cut and paste not enough diversity you see what I mean.

Based on my analysis of his responses in several interviews, he says his fans pay his bills, they like the particular style he does and they pay him to do those songs as that's what they appreciate. By being paid, i mean mabanga and songs for instance he gave an example of Joao Ndombele of Angola who paid him thinking he was doing an odemba song for but instead Ferre did a song with sebene and that angered Joao Ndombele who never spoke with Ferre for a little while when the album Qui est Derriere toi was released.
The other reason Ferre gave is that he likes songs which he's capable of singing all by himself even if a certain musician who did a particular vocal left and he's proved what he means by that when he did the acoustic show in Europe, the one in Kin and the concert Lipanda.

Newside is correct. Ferre gola has the ability to work around many styles including the rumba that was played during wenge musica. You can easily predict the style that the next song will exhibit. Thats makes his albums a bit boring and he seems stuck at the same level of performance. Making a few fans happy does not open you up to the mass.

We all know what Ferre is capable of and it's the same for even the likes of JB,Koffi and others however, the fact we cannot ignore is that today, musicians now depend on millionaires to put food on their table as they cannot play in Europe where they used to make money. The millions of fans around the world either buy pirated records or get shared files from friends so it is the few minority fans who sponsor them for individual songs who matter to the likes of Ferre,Fally and others. Why do you think the likes of Koffi and JB now concentrate on non music related investments. Congolese music is dead so whoever pays and asks for a particular song is the person Ferre will listen to not youtube fans or bloggers.

Yes,definitely, he's been told time and again about how monotonous his music is but i guess what he cares about is his growing fanbase and the money coming in,he's content with what he's doing because of the requests and payments he gets for particular types of songs so we fans who understand much just think he's stubborn and lazy but maybe he knows what he's doing, maybe it's too late to change his style now because remember it's when the likes of Koffi tried to change styles that they sunk, it's the same for Werra,he's suffering now because of change of style. Look at the rebirth of Zaiko, they've gone back to the old formula they were known for and now everyone just wants Zaiko. The likes of Werra,Koffi and others experimented with coupe decalle, it was successful to start with then people went back to the real coupe decalle, now we have the young like Fabregas who have corrected the elders and suddenly we have everyone following suit, we've seen the likes of Ferre, Robinho Mundibu and others also releasing short generiques without putting coupe decalle crap so the likes of Ferre have learnt that it's not easy to change or try what you're not used to.
