not strange in the sense that what he says is purely stupid
he says it  kind of saddens him that today congolese music only exists through dance and that congolese musicians are just relying on dancing and there are no more texts and melodies a great arranger like phillipe guez does not even work that much with congolese artists anymore because the level has dropped too much and he says they are working on cindy's next album(strange how it pops out when there was talk of a future latino album) and  he wonders  have to rely on dancing to succeed
i find it strange coming from probably the best writer alive among the musicians outside papa lutumba and whose album was "saved" by dancing wheteas he previously kept dissing werra and wazekwa about relying on generiques and boasted about its number of views more than any  of his rumbas
,he was in the best possible position to keep making rumba hits and bring that quality back

Says the man who has been riding on the "Selfie" train for the past couple months rather than promoting songs on his 38 song album. Another issue is the explicitly of his recent songs and also songs of other artists. This has become a big turnoff for people who were fans of past works, which had what I would call more profound lyrics.

I've always found his quest to match the Wenge generation & younger groups to be a blessing and a curse. Yes, it helped him reach new heights of success, but in exchange he lost the elegance and sophistication factor he had during the (Rambo -> Tcha Tcho) days (83 to around 93).

Its amazing the difference when listening to a song on Abracadabra/13éme Apôtre versus an album like Henriquet/Elle et moi, where he was responsible for nearly all the music production work and utilized his own style.

Honestly, I don't think he can hold a QL lineup together long enough to produce a group album. How many QL members can we name nowadays compared to the past?

It was only recently we found out who really played solo for Selfie

Yeah I really taught the guys would sing a lot in 13ieme Apotre because of how Koffi was printing them in interviews a lot and plus it was 30 plus song album. It sucks that all his attention is on Cindy when theirs plenty of other talent. And I taught it was the main soloist (Forgot his name right now) who played on Slefie but turned it to be a younger guy who I didn't even know was in QL.

Koffi turned out on selfie because the people were sick of his tcha-tcho and his songs with Cindy, and in fact I really don't know why he keeps playing that shit with her let her have solo Album a song in the group and leave the other guys shine if he keeps doing like that is gonna turn out the whole quartier latin will go and then he will be only with cindy and the musicians

He speaks pretty good English for the little that he knows lol. All Congolese musicans should make an effort to know English if they want to be international.

Koffi always likes to joke that he knows only a little English.

Back in 2001 when I assisted with his U.S tour, people (venue staff, press) were surprised at his level of fluency of English and that he had no translator during negotiations. Very few Francophone artists are fluent in English, which is a bit of a shame since they all want to to be international.

Fally seems to be improving on his English, though he's been caught in some really embarrassing interviews in English.

Bouro's English is cool. How I wish Ferre could speak like that. Mopao can speak English, he is just pretending since pretense is his wont at all times . I think Fally writes better than he speaks. This is not to despise Werra but I do not think he can say "come" in English just to save his life. There was an old clip that i watched some years back where he was to say some few lines in English and he messed everything up. It was so embarrassing. There was someone behind the camera telling him what to say in English yet Werra kept messing up.

Here's the clip. Rarely do I feel so embarrassed for someone.

Then you have this interview, which is basically his only televised interview for French press for obvious reasons  ;D ;D
