Ahhh, fucking hell!!! The instrument department is now complete at Maison Mere, no band will touch Werra in that dept. I wonder what will become of Arc en Ciel because this is a major signing here, Dady Bola is a proper soloist !!!

maybe he will be given mi-solo role or they will show him that he wont just come and run into the lineup, like it happened with japonais
but like you said that's a major signing

The difference between Japonais and Dady is that Dady plays Flamme Kapaya's style effortlessly so he will suit in very well, Kapaya's style is Werra's preference and any soloist who doesn't play that style is usually sent to mi-solo or rhythm so Dady should be perfect for the top spot as Arc en Ciel is still a kid where proper soloing is concerned but he's progressed very well the last year.
I just feel bad that JB Mpiana missed the opportunity of signing Dady when he went to watch and was invited to play on stage during the kipe ya yo promo concerts because that's the same time Dady briefly left Viva but went back again however he had already lost the number one spot to his understudy Zamba and since then has not really been comfortable at Viva so am not surprised that he's now joined Maison Mere.

I think it should be Christian Bombole who joined Maison Mere that time as Kimbangu joined much later.

They will both play. Mayi Ndombe may be affected. This is the new face l talked about. Jitrois has been contacted as well. Yanky also hinted on possible return of Brigade in the near future. Its like everyone is convinced Wata is moving on soon. Gravy Mfutila is ready to use his cheque book to lure him back. Werra rates Lobeso Angola and Bercy highly so expect some names to fall off in that department. There are other big ataluku names being hinted as well as a bass guitarist and 2 singers.

Nkosi yes you know wata leaving maison mere depends only of how much  his heart wants him to continue repaying nsone's faith in him directly and how long  he accepts not being THE leader
otherwise his solo career is extremely well prepared, very very well
i wonder why werra did not take the bassist issue more seriously before, there were  fanfan, cedric bass, dixé or whatever is his name who are or were there after mimiche's departure but it seems werra did not  trust him enough so he kept hiring lofombo
so maybe he has now realised that its the first time  maison mere does not have a high profile bassist, its the only section(with synthé)  where the guy who plays is not popular
i wonder why werra never gave mayi ndombe  and coreen a chance on solo, this is basically their role( would be nice at least on a song)

Why would Heritier stay with Maison
Mere de vieux cultivons la haine there is no point of him staying in his parents house, it’s time for him to leave his childhood home and start his own family he has been with the group for about 14 years now and is experienced enough to go out and be a solo artist and he could actually be the guy from the 5th generation to give Fally and Ferre some competition. He has a very big following for a guy in someone else’s group (just like Fally and Ferre had), he is also a good singer and a good dancer and has released some very good songs.  He is also under the guidance of David Monsoh so he is in good hands to make his solo career successful.

yeah man,i think he also fears a bit ,he does not know how to handle hjis departure and what will be said arount and stuff like that
even fally had to be motivated a lot by monsoh to really get that determination of going solo no matter what

Just say you don't know him,you can't judge him by the recorded CD's, have you ever watched Viva dvd's?  He's an excellent soloist and much more exciting than most of these soloists we know  except Papa Wemba's generiques and sebenes are not hardcore as they are a bit old skool, he arranges them himself otherwise the soloing by Dady and even his former number 2 Zamba  is excellent,Arc en Ciel is a kid anyone who knows Congolese music well will tell you.

I think Jdog doesn't know much about modern Congolese music going by some of his comments, firstly he cannot even identify Dady Bola the soloist who made Thierry Mogratana run away.

dady bola's problem is that he went in a group not specialist of generiques, the group he was in before viva  he created many solos used  by the like of kapaya, tyson, ficarré and so on..who got more exposure
they took those partitions and reworked them their way(dady bola after that group was often invited by djo k and he was not talking just playing and that's how viva spotted him)

Yeah, just like with Ferre's band,Viva is all about vocals so am also worried that even Hadji Solo will not be used effectively so we may lose him to desperate bands like Maison Mere.
Tomorrow i'll post a full concert by Papa Wemba for the like of Jdog to understand what Viva is all about and so that they know what Dady Bola does when let to do his own thing on stage, the video was a Fikin performance which coincided with Papa Wemba's birthday about 5 or 6 years,it's my favourite concert dvd, everyone who comes home asks for a copy of that dvd,Dady, Zamba, Tosha and Costa Pinto did some great work at that concert.

Sly i dont know how to describe my point but let me try.you look at Ficcare he plays the easy style..Mogratana Aldo the same.now check out Flamme, kimbangu and now  arc in ciel...they play sort of hardcore and the showmanship associated with it..the former group blends in the background while the latter  stands out in their groups.

That is true Shamala Flamme and kimbangu play hardcore and just as Sly says, Werra seems to like that kind of style. You could see it on that Fikin 2009 concert, Japonais with his easy style could not match Kimbangu.

If you have noticed, all top bands in Congo have a certain way of arranging their sebenes, they have that as standard and each musician who joins is expected to play to those standards, Werrason prefers faster and aggressive drumming and solo guitar coupled with intermittent changes to the tempo and rhythm and he prefers extended sebene. Flamme Kapaya set that standard and each soloist who joins is tested based on Kapaya's set standard as it is Werra's preference, most soloists can actually play to that standard though they have their own preferred way of playing for instance Thierry Mogratana, he tried to keep things clean but brought in his own style he took with him from Viva La Musica however he soon changed and started playing Kapaya's style and has stuck to that now and the consolation is that his solos are crisp clear and with less mistakes on the notes and that is how Dadu Bola plays, he's fast, produces crisp clear solos and likes adding a lot of signatures like Kapaya so him adopting kapaya's style is more like eating ''porridge'' it's easier for him as he's got vast experience.

Arc en Ciel joined Maison Mere a long time ago and was studying all the other soloists like Kimbangu, he played rhythm and mi-solo and it took him a while to get to his current form, he's been the least experienced of all Maison Mere lead soloists recruited by Werra,he has a lot to learn.

There's not many sebene songs with Dady Bola but here is his own composition on the album Bazonkion, he played solo on it too,to cut the story short, Dady Bola plays to the standard and consistency of Alain Makaba,Roga Roga,Ramazani and Lebou Kabuya ie high pitched crisp clear solo and can adapt to any speed with ease, Werrason knows that very well and it's probably why he's recruited him.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt0xclRCKL0
Also listen to this song I posted above from Min 4.06 when he adds that signature and fires up the sebene with excellent solo partitions with grating effect, not all soloists can actually do that

Shamala, now let's examine the new Thierry Mogratana, this is how he's changed ever since he joined Maison Mere, he abandoned the Viva style on Maison Mere's album Temps Presente and took on Kapaya's style

This was his debut at Maison Mere
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuQ13cM_SyU

....and now this is how he plays
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at-hjmxWQpY
Here he is on Kaludji's song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUbbvepUPfU
On Christian Lema's album he brings back his Viva style and combines it with Maison Mere's style
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbmZfg90Yqc
and on Bill Clinton's Mukusa Mukongo he went back to Flamme Kapaya's style
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0lHZ0_ep0E
With Papy Jah
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGkV0xnefhc

If you listen to these songs then you'll know that it's only Ficarre who would struggle a bit as he plays so slow , all the other soloists can play Maison Mere's style even though they have their preferred styles.

thanks Sly am now schooled. i like the easy style not the complicated one....in the compicated style they tend to make mistakes...

I think it goes with experience. Senior soloists like Makaba, Roga Roga,,Mboka Liya ,Lebou and others don't make silly mistakes even when playing too fast, am sure you saw at one concert,Roga Roga even put his guitar behind his back but played without mistake, that's how he's mastered guitar and the art of soloing, the rest like Kimbangu, Arc en Ciel,Flamme etc are still perfecting their art.

Personally, I prefer more complicated sebene but not chopped up sebene, just more power on the drums and crisp clear solos with a lot of signatures with not many changes in tempo that's why when I listen to music, I play Wenge Maison Mere generiques and skip most songs but when it comes to BCBG, I skip the generiques and listen to the other songs, with BCBG, what I consider to be proper generique is Quel est ton problem, Kiyunguzuna and the other primus generiques otherwise the rest including Mpunda are very poor generiques and I usually skip them.
If only BCBG could stick to the formular used on Quel est ton problem or at least to this

Santiago is another excellent soloist but is too clean on the guitar like the likes of Makaba, Pathy Moleso, Patou Solo, Japonais etc, Werrason has made the right choice by picking Dady Bola and am sure JB Mpiana is regretting not having recruited Dady who was a regular visitor at BCBG and played on stage twice with fans demanding that JB recruits him, the man had left Papa Wemba so should have been ok to get him just like the case with Boguys Bompema who had left Papa Wemba's band and later joined BCBG.

maybe he has realised how hard life as a leader is too hard and swallowed his pride to go back in a group²

Yeah, I remember very well what he said last time, he said he was pondering on what to do but he did not state clearly if he had left Viva or was forming a band, he just said " at the moment am just home" then after a few months returned to Viva, he realised it wasn't easy being a band leader as you say archos.

Guys, I don't like to sound rude but what I can advise is that if you don't know something it's best to listen to those who know. You EMO say Papa Wemba is not a good singer, you EMO say Maitre Ficarre is the best soloist at BCBG, do you expect anyone to take you serious when you talk about Clan Viva musicians like Dady Bola whom you hardly know.
Dady Bola is an excellent soloist capable of doing anything that Kapaya and Kimbangu can, I have given a few examples but you're still arguing. There is no one who trains soloist specifically for Maison Mere, all soloists are made to adopt the style that Werrason prefers, they are ordinary guitarists even Flamme Kapaya was a rhythm guitarist before he was elevated and got to where he was at Maison Mere.

I always respect people's opinions but some opinions I brush and some call for the writer to be rebuked for instance when you say that Ficarre is better than Patou yet the whole world knows by listening that Patou is the best and the reason why he's the head soloist and plays most of the songs at BCBG, I would also give the example of Flamme vs Japonais, we all know who the best soloist is between the two.
One thing I can tell you about guitarists is that it is easy for the to change their styles but the thing is that each guitarist has his preferred style and identity, they don't like copying,if a small boy can go to Maison Mere aged 13 and play Kapaya's style what would stop a seasoned soloist like Dady who doesn't even need to prove himself much as his previous works are all there to sample.
I like joking about Ficarre but on a serious note, even Ficarre can play like Kapaya if he wants to, it would take him a long time to catch up on that style but it's because BCBG's style of sebene is relaxed and mid tempo so there has been no need by BCBG soloists to play their solos very fast, the same goes for Viva soloists, Papa Wemba's sebenes are for mature people hence a bit slow but that doesn't mean his soloists are slow.

Thiery hands Bob Solo the Ibanez, my Lingala is Nil but I don't think Werra asked him to bring Fender the next day ;D. If Werra can air a teenager's tryout why not Daddy's, something is a miss. You can't pull wool out of our eyes how will anybody try out for Mopao,Jb,Wazekwa and Werra and then decline to join any of the top dawgs ::) ;D :D

There's a difference between knowing and thinking that you know ;) but then again you are entitled to your opinion just don't force it on us.......... If Werra can air a teenager's tryout why not Daddy's, something is a miss.
Point taken,it's never my intention to force my opinions on others but as this is an open forum, I find it rather wrong that talented and proven soloists like Dady are slandered by people who don't even listen to the music by the band Dady plays for so you wonder how they come up with their opinions.

As for Werra deciding not to air Dady's audition, it could be for personal reasons, maybe he had not yet spoken with Papa Wemba as he gets on well with Papa Wemba and doesn't want to upset him, we don't know as Dady's departure from Viva hasn't been announced till we saw that photo of him at La Zamba, it is a recent photo and It confirms he had auditioned but as to why it's not been shown on the programme Zamba Zamba, only Werra and his management know.

Sly, I have listened to bana molokai and I am sure what I am saying has little margin of error. Do not underestimate that I have never listened to papa wemba. That's why I gave an example of the song maria. Please listen to this featuring of bola at bcbg were jb refused fans requests because of maisha contract. Bola is a makaba, roga roga, patou, ficarre, japonaise like giutarist. Not the madness that werrason looks for. So bwana twalyumfwa music, teimwe mweka.

You are contradicting yourself, Japonais was recently with Werra, Ficare and Patou are not in the same level with Makaba and Roga roga, show some respect to them, they are not in the same league. Its not true that Werra is looking for madness, it is what is available in the market, all leaders would cherish to have somebody like Makaba and Roga, but where are they?

It seems you're failing to understand what I have been saying. Let me repeat.

Yes Dady Bola, Roga Roga, Makaba,Ramazani and others play clean solo whilst Werrason prefers aggressive and rough solos, it's a matter of choice by the respective soloist, they are experienced and can play like Kapaya if they want. I do not dispute the fact that you've listened Viva's music but I don't think you've listened enough of Viva's music to have a good judgement and I say so based on what you've said about Papa Wemba. I would also cite the examples of Ferre's musicians, you always dismiss anything by Ferre's band so how can you convince me that you've listened properly to the music of Papa Wemba or Ferre if you dismiss them and when we post anything about them all you say in the post is ''boring'' for example.

Which Maria song are you talking about? I have just checked, I have about 3 songs with the title Maria by Papa Wemba namely Maria, Maria Valencia and Maria Cherie and all of them have no sebene.

In the video you've reposted above showing Dady Bola playing with BCBG, he was playing Titanic and Somo Trop guitar partitions, the original songs have clean solo partitions so how do you expect Dady to play them in Kapaya's style? his got his own style and he knew he was at BCBG, they have their own style there too.

Let's curtail the debate and wait for a video showing him playing at Maison Mere and possibly if he records anything with Maison Mere, that will be the best time to debate.

Here I do not agree with you on Patou Solo, he's a young guitarist with immense talent and is definitely at Makaba and Roga Roga's level even the tone and precision with which he hits the notes be it in sebene or rhumbas is just as Makaba and Roga Roga's but off course we have different ears lest am accused of trying to force my opinions on others. ;D

Sly.........my brother from Zambia, learn to agree with somebody at least once. Daddy bola may play werrasons prefered style but what I am saying is he is best suited for bcbg style, read my BOLD. Listen to my clip above and argue if that is what jb does not prefer in his structure.

What makes you say he's best suited for BCBG style? To me, he's best suited at Maison Mere because at BCBG he may be asked to tone down a bit just like Patou has been asked to.

The clip you've posted means nothing, he was playing BCBG's style, his style is slightly more aggressive than the boring stuff you find on the Titanic which he was playing above.

The point am trying to reiterate is that Dady Bola can play any style even Kapaya's style, he's shown us that before,i posted several examples of Viva songs but you've ignored them and choosing only the one showing his BCBG concert appearance where he was not actually auditioning but playing a BCBG song in BCBG's style. I repeat, let's wait to see him playing with Maison Mere before we continue this debate.
